| Abstract | The article is devoted to the theoretical and practical research of mistakes as happen in the fire-applied sports. The influence of stress factors on different groups of the sportsmen under consideration has been taken into account. It has been stated that the stress factors of competitive activity are psychological determinants of the mistakes. Psychological compensation for athlete has been suggested depending on their sporting duration and professional skill. The rating of the sport significant operating characteristics of the successful athlete (criterion standard) has been suggested with a group of special (instrumental) qualities in the first place, a group of motor properties in the second place, and attention personality qualities in third place.
