Abstract The plant operator to clean the dust off-gas in the production of crude lead from spent lead-acid automotive batteries batteries, cases of spontaneous combustion aerosol dust. To determine the cause autoignition was surveyed plant dust and sampled to measure the temperature of the gas mixture at various locations along the pipeline. Found that the dust particles have an irregular shape with an equivalent diameter of from 0.25 to 30 microns and a particle diameter of 0.25 to 3 microns, consisting essentially of lead baghouse achieve that result in autoignition aerosol burns. Calculations based on the results of studies have shown that the hydraulic resistance of the flue gas increased by 33% when the optional cyclone scrubber. Due to this, the dust concentration is increased to a critical value and the smallest increase in its temperature and gas mixture caused spontaneous combustion aerosol.
