| Abstract | This article deals with the influence of professional activities on a personality, namely with the study of the fears associated with the performance of professional duties of rescuers of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine.
The article contains the results of an empirical study of professional fears that was held from 2008 to 2011 with graduates of the National University of Civil Protection of Ukraine, serving as chiefs of the guard rescue parts of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine.
This article highlights the main groups of professional fears inherent in commanders of the guard. An analysis of the available relevant fears, as well as analysis in terms of procedural flow fears (preaction, action, and the aftereffect stages) were carried out. The reactions of the rescuers to existing fears were described.
