Abstract The analysis of existing approaches for definition of fire-prevention gaps between buildings and constructions has been carried out; their advantages and shortcomings have been revealed. The most problem parameters have been determinated which relate to calculation of heat flow that is the average temperature of flame and irradiance coefficient. Calculation of angular coefficient of irradiance has been given based on existing techniques for one of objects. It was stressed the necessity for development of the recommendations for assessment fire-prevention gaps which consider various variants of relative positioning of buildings and parameters of flame.
